The Velarray M1600’s optimal combination of data-rich resolution and broad field-of-view enables precise mapping and obstacle avoidance. The sensor enables robots to safely navigate crowded urban areas and corridors for delivery and security applications. Velarray M1600 will enable autonomous mobile robot operation include warehouses, retail centers, industrial plants, and medical facilities.

Designed for functional safety and durability, the Velarray M1600 supports autonomous mobile robots in a wide variety of challenging environmental conditions, including temperature, lighting, and precipitation. With a durable design, this sensor is aesthetically well-suited for external mounting and easily embeddable in a robot’s sensor compartment.

Micro Lidar Array (MLA) features Velodyne’s groundbreaking optical chip technology, with 8 lidar channels miniaturized to the size of a penny,  that forms the  “engine” of the lidar sensor. The MLA brings together the core elements that make lidar work: the optical chip and Velodyne’s ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) technology. The miniaturization combined with Velodyne’s proprietary, fully automated manufacturing process enables cost effective, high quality mass production.
