Sally Frykman

Sally Frykman is Director of Education and Business Development, responsible for outreach and education to create deeper public understand of autonomous technology and Velodyne’s LiDAR sensors as an essential component of self-driving cars. She is actively engaged in local and federal policy efforts to advance autonomous technology for increased safety on the roadways. She leads Velodyne’s partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and has worked nationally, including as the company liaison for government and industry affairs in Washington, D.C., and internationally, to promote Velodyne LiDAR technology and autonomous vehicles as the solution to the global epidemic of roadway casualties. Sally has spoken to a wide range of audiences, including TecNation Sacramento, California law enforcement, and local middle school students.

Sally has spent the entirety of her career grounded in advocacy and education, working for a non-profit agency serving adults with disabilities as well as in both public and private schools as a teacher and administrator. She is passionate about making the world a safer, more inclusive, and universally accessible place for all. She joined the Velodyne team because she strongly believes in the company’s vision of advancing roadway safety, saving lives, and the myriad benefits realized due to the innovation of LiDAR technology. Sally holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master’s Degree from San Francisco State.
