Velodyne Expert’s Article Looks at How Lidar Can Make Cities Safer, More Sustainable

An article in E-Mobility Technology International authored by Dieter Gabriel, Velodyne Europe’s Marketing Manager, looked at how traffic management is an important tool in creating safer and more sustainable communities.

Dieter’s article noted,

“Advanced traffic analysis tools need to leverage modern technology in order to enable intelligent infrastructure, which will, in turn, increase efficiency and save lives. Current traffic counts and analysis solutions struggle to perform optimally with poor lighting and climate conditions and often miss data.”

In the article, Dieter makes the case how “lidar is a technology that can enhance and improve these systems by creating an accurate 3D representation of traffic situations for analysis and solution implementation.”
