Facilities, such as airports, shopping malls and train stations, need real-time situational awareness to spot safety, customer service and public health issues to enable quick action that address these situations.

An article in LED Inside by Yining Chen noted Outsight uses Velodyne Lidar sensing technology in its 3D Semantic Camera system which can help businesses and governments improve the analysis and management of people flow and assets in large crowded environments. The article cited:

“The solution is being deployed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport to optimize the passenger journey, improve queue and asset management, and enhance compliance and safety. Outsight’s 3D Semantic Cameras can also be deployed to support social distancing and public health.”

Optics.org also posted a story with the news, which included comments from Cedric Hutchings, CEO, Outsight.

“Velodyne’s sensors allow us to track each individual person and object with centimeter precision. They enable our solutions to precisely monitor movements, velocity and interactions between all persons and objects in real time,” said Cedric.
