We would like to share an update on the status and measures that Velodyne Lidar is putting in place as we closely monitor the COVID-19 situation. As always, the health, safety and well-being of our customers, personnel, and vendors are our top priority. 

On Monday, March 16, 2020, a number of counties in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Santa Clara County and Alameda County, have issued a mandatory order for “shelter-in-place,” which took effect at midnight on March 17, 2020 and will stay in place until further notice. We have complied with the order and closed our Bay Area offices.

Velodyne Lidar will remain operational as we assess and meet customer needs by utilizing manufacturing centers globally that are currently open. As a contingency plan, we have built buffer inventory for our popular products, and we will continue shipping our products safely and responsibly. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we manage our shipping and manufacturing requirements at this time.

Despite these challenges, we will continue to work hard to bring our smart, powerful lidar solutions to our customers worldwide. We will be available for meetings through the use of video and phone teleconferencing, digital communications, and more.
