NavVis was founded in 2013 to bridge the gap between outdoor and indoor digital maps. As a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich, NavVis computer vision-based indoor positioning technology is based on years of academic research. Today, NavVis continues to push the frontiers of indoor spatial intelligence. Their digital twin platform is being used by the world’s leading manufacturing companies, with over 100 partners in more than 30 countries worldwide. NavVis is headquartered in Munich and has offices in New York and Shanghai, currently employing over 200 people across the globe.
NavVis combines their leading digital twin technology with Velodyne sensors to provide fast, real-time 3D data for their mobile mapping systems. This valuable input has played an important role in developing their industry-leading SLAM algorithms that power their flagship mobile mapping system, NavVis M6. In addition, NavVis recently launched the VLX, a complementary device that features the same ground-breaking SLAM technology in a compact, versatile design. With NavVis technology, fast capture and creation of survey-grade point clouds and enterprise-ready digital twins are possible. NavVis is pleased to have Velodyne as a partner in bringing next-generation reality capture technology to laser scanning professionals and enterprise manufacturing facilities.
